Interpolation recovery technique of polyethylene pipe and its application

  • High density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe possesses sound chemical stability and corrosion resistance. Interpolation recovery technique can make HDPE pipes have overall properties, such as the increase of anti-compression/anti-shock properties and prolongation of service life. Besides, this technique has advantages of low cost, high efficiency, long distance repair for one-time recovery and wide range of application. The sequential operation step is setting out installation point, pipe cleaning, trial pipe interpolation, fusing and hydrotest of HDPE pipe, interpolation of reducing HDPE pipe, tie-in of HDPE pipe, overall hydrotest of pipe and purging. A 28.5 km-long corroded gathering pipeline in Shixi Oilfield were well recovered with HDPE pipe interpolation recovery technique.
