Technical status of long-distance pipeline SCADA system standards worldwide

  • SCADA system is a computer-based automation system applied in operation process control. The international standards associated with SCADA mainly come from the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC, Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers IEEE, the American Petroleum Institute API. IEC standards afford the specifications of the SCADA system communications interface standard and process control functions and safety standards, IEEE standards comprehensively regulate the SCADA system architecture, design, interface and some special needs, API standards afford the specifications related to security, human-computer interface and monitoring, Control center design, etc. The main specifications of the domestic standard include: field instrumentation design, installation and acceptance requirements. Most of the above standards are general standards, which focus on the design principles of SCADA system framework. Domestic standards lag behind the development level of pipeline SCADA system hardware and software, and it can not meet the requirements of SCADA system in design, operation and maintenance, and the standard system of long-distance pipeline SCADA system needs to be planed.
