Economic analysis on double pipeline transportation in Shixi-Karamay Oil Pipeline

  • The Shixi-Karamay D273 and D377 parallel oil pipelines are used to transport the crude oil(produced from Xinjiang Oilfield in Junggar Region)to Karamay. If either pipeline is started up separately, DRA will be needed to inject pipeline to run the pipeline and ensure its safety operation. Therefore, the dual-pipeline parallel transportation model is explored in the different soil temperature conditions. If soil temperature is below the set point of crude oil, D273 pipeline will be run with DRA, and D377 pipeline is shut down. If soil temperature is above the set point of crude oil, D377 pipeline will be started up, D273 pipeline stops DRA injection, and the parallel pipelines are kept running. Depending on this oil transportation model, the annual transportation cost is saved about 158 ×104 RMB.
