Corrosion control on the pipeline contained condensation water in natural gas offtake station

  • To control the condensation water corrosion for the pipeline behind pressure regulation skid in gas offtake station, a visco-elastic anticorrosion materials was used. The anticorrosion layer was consisted of the visco-elastic anticorrosion tape and PVC outer tape. Installation process was divided into four steps: surface preparation of pipe, wrapping visco-elastic anticorrosive tape, wrapping protective outer tape and quality inspection. The overlap length between the front end of visco-elastic anticorrosion tape and the end of original coating was not less than 50 mm. The minimum overlap length of visco-elastic wrapping tape was 10 mm. It was not necessary to maintain bigger tension when the visco-elastic anticorrosoion tape was wrapped. The overlap width at joint of the outer tape was 50%, but a certain tension was necessary when wrapping. This anticorrosion technology was adopted in Chuzhou and Changlv Gas Offtake Stations in West-to-East Gas Transmission Pipeline with remarkable anticorrosion effectiveness.
