A New Classification for Flow Patterns of Oil-water Two-phase Flow in Horizontal Pipes

  • The published classifications for flow pattern of oil-water two-phase flow in horizontal pipes are reviewed and the localizations of those classifications are pointed out in this paper. A new classification for oil-water flow patterns based on published and acquired data is proposed. Umpty flow patterns are identified and classified into two categories: Newtonian flow and non-Newtonian flow. The new classification has the advantage of a comprehensive advisement and a clear assortment.
