The Assessment of Remaining Strength of the Corroded Pipeline

  • The paper reports an assessment on Kelamayi-Wulumuqi pipeline (ϕ529 × 7(8) mm) containing corrosion defect. The work has been done with TGRC-ARSP software, CTP-FEM finite element method and the bust test of full size pipe based on the indoor inspection of samples taken from the corroded pipeline and the in-line inspection of smart pig. According to the assessment resuits, if the corroded pipeline were partially replaced and coating repaired.it would be run safely at 3 MPa pressure. The advice on remedial action of the corroded linepipe has been given.
