Construction Technology of Foreign Underground Natural Gas Storage

  • The article describes the development application, and types of foreign underground gas storages, compares the construction technologies and applications of several types of gas storages, the results show that the depleted oil/gas field type underground gas storage, as most economical, is widely used in the world. If there is no depleted oil/gas field to be used as underground gas storage, the most available storage to be constructed is porosity water-bearing formation type underground gas storage. It is considered that the spheric/ellipsoidal cavern is most suitable for constructing oil/gas storage in rock salt formation.
