  • Hydrogen damage problem of pipelines exists extensively in natural gas transmission engineering. On the basis of cohensive force degrading mechanism, combined with weight function method, method of incubation period calculation of pipeline with axial crack in hydrogen environment is presented in this paper through computation of mathematical crack length. The effect of operation pressure, hydrogen environment, hydrogen diffusivity, and ambient temperature on incubation period is also analyzed.
