Some New Practices in the Design of Korla—Shanshan Pipeline Route Engineering

  • Korla—Shanshan pipeline is the first pipeline project that overall adopts international standards or codes in its construction in China's oil pipelines. The international new concept and methods on pipeline's design introduced to this pipeline is described. The design principle of this pipeline on the route finalization and/or line pipes, selection of coatings, hydrotechnological protection design for the pipeline located at rocky terrains, installation of block valves, and pressure test as well as construction is introduced, which brings forth new ideas for the pipeline projects completed in China.
