Overpressure test and stress detection to Dongxin Sour Crude Oil Pipeline

Dongxin Sour Crude Oil Pipeline has been operating for over 20 years, with good pipeline condition and light corrosion level. In order to make an on-the-spot investigation to the pipeline existing condition and take advantage of its load supporting capability, overpressure test to 600 m pipeline is carried out and electrometric method is used for the pressure-tested pipeline to detect its field stress and strain. It is considered by primary analysis result that there is still strength reserved in the integrate pipeline and it can be used continuously for many years. Consequently, it is possible to be operated in pressurized condition. Primary pressure raising scope is given at the same time (3.0-4.0 MPa).
