A Method to Determine the Quality Specifications of Oil and Gas Line Pipes

  • When constructing a pipeline, one of the task to designer is to determine the quality specifications of steel pipes according to adapability, reliability and economy. The yield strength, yield tensile ratio and toughness are major quality indexes of steel pipe (board). However, it is quite difficult to determine them reasonably. By studying the pipe properties and analyzing the research results concerned home and abroad, the authors come to the conclusion that when determining the yield strength, Bauschinger effect, the effect of the Bauschinger on yield tensile ratio and its ranges should be considered. The method to determine the line pipe and the yield strength of steel pipe and the yield tensile ratio have been given in the paper.
