Field Test on Annular-type Centrifugal Flowmeter

The common flowmeters are not suited for metering the crude oil containing water and sand. With low pressure loss and simple repair, the annular-type centrifugal flowmeter, being without rotary element installed in it, can not be stuck and block up. By means of the field tests, the effect of velocity of flow, density and viscosity of medium on the flowmeter has been demonstrated. In the paper, the applicability and measures reducing the metering error for the flowmeter have been given.
