Discussion on the Terminology Normalization for Tank Capacity

It is very important to normalize and standardize the terminology for the vertical dome-type tank be- cause the irregular terminology currently used in the industry affects teaching, scientific research and academic exchange. Starting from the practical application, the paper recommends that the terminology for tank capacity should be consisted of nominal volume, design capacity, safety volume, allowable volume ana actual capacity, and describes the volume capacity and/or volumes' implications, relationships and their ap-plications.
