Some Problems on the Construction of LPG Underground Rock Caverns

It is a significant development direction to construct the underground rock caverns in order to store the LPG within them. Because of the complicacies of design and construction, there are many problems to be urgently solved. This paper especially discusses the problems such as engineering geological conditions and hydrogeologic conditions, stability analysis of surrounding rock of caverns, cavern's cross-section, selection of its depth of burying, operating temperature, improvement of stress condition of rock mass, distribution of interstitial water, and measures preventing two media from mixing and so forth.
