The Lifting Strength Calculation to the Declined Tank Base

  • After a tank has been built it will decline due to the uneven settlement of the tank base. The tank should be lifted and its base should be retreated under this condition. The common lifting method is to raise the tank around its edge uniformly. In this case, the dead weight of tank will make the every parts of tank deformation and stress, so it is very important to analyze and calculate the strength of tank. In the paper, a model of analysing and calculating the strength of tank lifted has been established and the strength of tank has been analyzed and calculated by using the force method, and using the theory of elastic thin plate and mechanics of materials to calculate some coefficients in the equation of force method. The method is verified through a example.
