Abstract
The flow of wet gas belongs to the category of gas/liquid two-phase flow, the process calculations of this kind of pipeline should cover the thermodynamic calculation, flow regime prediction and hydrodynamic calculation, because of the wet gas has got the behaviors of retrograde condensation and hydrating. For the thermodynamic calculation, the SOPSIM simulator can calculate the mass flowrates, mole compositions and physical parameters of gas/liquid phases within different pipe sections with the gas-condensate model and compositional model; for the hydrodynamic calculation, it can classify the flow regimes and calculate the hold-up/pressure drop with ten hybrid correlations. Starting from the thermodynamics, the SOPSIM can predict the generating conditions of hydrate of wet gas during transporting and can proceed to determine the sections of hydrate generated within pipelines. The SOPSIM is not only capable of analogically calculating the stable state and/or unstable state process, but also predicting the generating area of hydrate and estimating the peak shaving capability of wet gas pipeline. By comparing with the field data for Jinzhou 20-2 offshore pipeline, the available thermodynamic models and hydrodynamic models applied to the wet gas pipeline have been chosen.
