Abstract
The intermittent transportation process can be adopted for the low-throughput rate pipeline which the pour depressant is added and the forward and back pumping is also needed. The necessity on the intermittent operation and problems to be noticed have been given by means of the test and analysis on the process in Zhong-Luo pipeline, first to decide the shutdown time, next to control the key operation in shutdown and restart to keep cold oil from entering the pipe as much as possible. It is pointed out that the more stress should be put on the restarted pipeline which is in the unstable operation condition, and some measures shoule be taken to increase temperature and pressure to make the pipeline work in stable condition according to specific circumstances.
