The Reflection on the Conflagration of 310 Oil Tank in Nanjing Refinery

In view of management defect of fire production exposed in the event of Tank 310 conflagration in Nanjin Refinery on Oct. 21, 1993, the author puts out a proposal for unti-misopperation and requirement for fire protection facilities and environment on tank farm. To keep off from misopperation requires strict management and technique support. Tank farms needs a good fire protection environment and completion of fire protection facilities besides of relevant regulations. The fire extinguishing agent disposed on tank farms should be high efficient and active. According to the actual situation in our county, to equip some high powered mobile fire protecting devices on large tank farms for the safety and reliability is really critical.
