Protection Engineering of Pipeline in Luliang Loess Area

In the light of the geographical conditions of loess area in Longxi and Luliang, where the western oil pipeline and gas pipeline will pass through, the protection principles for the pipeline engineering are put forward, namely, studying the regularity, taking water-control as a target, local comprehensive harnessing, hydrotechnical designing, safety and stability. Therefore, it is necessary to set up a protection system for the pipeline engineering in the loess area of Luliang, which mainly includes stability evaluation and pipeline routing, water-control, pipeline anchoring ang ditch reinforcing, right of way protection, special protection in the construction and intensifying the pipeline maintenance. It is pointed out that the problem to be solved is erosion for the pipeline engineering in loess area. Finally the paper emphasizes the necessity for increasing investment properly in the construction to minimize hte hazards and ensure the safety and stability of the pipeline operation.
