Energy Efficiency in the Reconstruction of Pipeline Pumps for Lower Throughput

  • Pipeline pumps are increasingly doing useless work with the decrease of annual throughput in Renqiu-Beijing Oil Pipeline. Three stage-takedown reconstructions are made to the oil pumps in Xongxian Station so as to improve pump efficiency and cut down power consumption. In addition pump with smaller power is installed to realize economic pump operation. The reconstructions are prooved energy saving and cost reducing. For low throughput oil pipeline, stage reconstruction and installation of pumps with smaller power are not optimal power-saving measures. It is the effective countermeasure against throttling loss in pumps to adopt speed regulator, so as to adjust pump speed according to load variation.
