Optimizing Operation Process to Gudong Pipeline Network

  • Crude oil from Gudao, Gudong and Zhuangxi is transported through two pipelines which are Guyong-dong and Guluodong pipelines. The problems resulting from the current operational process of the two pipelines include frequent throttles on every pump stations and a higher energy consumption. By analyzing the current operational process of the two pipelines, the operation parameters are given. The optimizing operation scheme is set forth without replacing the existing equipments and ensuring the oil transportation, that is, taking the two pipeline as one transportation system, choosing the minimum oil inlet temperature of the two pipelines as the minimum allowable oil temperature, distributing reasonably the total throughput in Gudao pump station (the initial pump station) to the two pipelines. With the scheme, the following purposes have been achieved: by-pass operation on Guyongdong pipeline all the year round, reduction throttle loss in the initial pump station, increase oil throughput in the Guluodong pipeline and energy saving.
