Actions against a Pipeline Rupture in Xidatan Pump Station

  • The pipe to No. 1 Main Pump of Xidatan Pump Station of Golmut-Lahsa Pipeline cracked to 80 mm long at its flanged connection to the pump suction when transporting 70# gasoline. The rupture results from high pump discharge pressure, strong pump vibration, and low pipe rigidity near pump suction. Considering that the pipeline is welded perpendicularly to the pump, an in-house rash repair is carried out, with welding made after pump shutdown, complete ventilation and blocking pipe end with grese to prevent gasoline from escaping. In addition, a big support is confirmed successfull, and normal operation is resumed and valuable experiences on rush repairing by welding in oil pump house are accumilated.
