Increasing the Service Life of Diesel Engines in Pump Station

  • Long service life of diesel engines in pump station determines the availability and maintainability of the engine, the pipeline safe operation as well as the realization of oil transport targets. From the pointview of part's failure rate, structural design, application and maintenances, the paper gives the technical specfica-tions for the engine's corrosion resistance, material quality, heat treament, surface treatment, and the matching between different parts. For scientific management, records and daily reports generations for individual engines are required. Operation procedure is introduced for initial run and break-in, and the fuel and lube oil quality for engines are specified (mainly for their cetane rating, fractions and viscosity).
