The Differences between Products and Crude Oil Pipelines

  • The differences between products and crude oil pipelines are introduced by describing their own features. It will cause problems if one copies indiscriminately the experiences of crude oil pipelines in products pipeline engineering. The main features of crude oil pipelines are as follows: ①The crude oil transported is not an end product; ②The delivery capacity varies with the oilfield output; ③With its terminal being a refinary or a transfer station, crude oil pipeline operation needs a relatively simple management. Developing on the basis of crude oil pipeline, the products pipeline has the following features: ①The products transported are final goods; ②They must be delivered with tight-line and batch transpotation mode; ③Their terminal is sales market; ④The products transported have a varied and variable variety; ⑤The delivery capacity will not decrease with output; ⑥It has a more complicated management and dispatching system; ⑦Close interface supervision is needed.
