Jet Fuel Tight Line Transportation Practiced in Golmud-Lhasa Pipeline

Jet fuel tight line transportation through Golmud-Lhasa pipeline was practiced twice and proved the feasibility of tight line batch transportation process.The paper introduces the modifications made to control mode, method and process parameters.To maintain the quality of oil product, the following measures are taken: ①eliminate valve leaks by replacing all the defective or leaking valves; ②transport the jet fuel by pressure differential method; ③precisely regulate the inlet pressure for every station and pump to make it greater than the pressure to the inlet of pump generated by the oil product from floating tank; ④make frequent and timely sampling and testing in intermediate station; ⑤follow proper transportation sequence; ⑥be sure to switch over correctly in initial station; ⑦ detect and branch off the mixed contaminating plug.Besides, in order to keep safe operation, all the relief and safety valves whose settings have changed are recalibrated, and all the equipment checked.It is pointed out that correct instruction and coordination are also the preconditions to successful transportation.Some suggestions are given on improving transportation process and autoregulation system.
