In the light of the practical construction. introduced in the paper is the structure of a spiral staitway of an LPG spherical tank, which is made up of a column spiral stairway and a spherical stairway. Therefore each of the two parts should be considered seperately when bending radius calculation is carried out. By means of field laying-out. the real length of the side plate (which is spread out) can be obtained. The writer introduces the exact calculating procedure for the above mentioned application as well as the theoretical deviation basis. Through comparison, the two kinds of values are found close to each other. Also. the way of manufacturing is stated and the spiral staitway manufactured in this way can meet the requirements of a related project. And field febrication and whole hanging can be available so that aerial operation is able to be reduced with production rate increased.
