Statistical Method for Reliability of Individual Units of a Slurry Pipeline

  • The Reliability of individual units of a slurry pipeline plays an important role in the safety and continuous operation of the pipeline system and has much to do with solid medium transportation. In addition to highly reliable installation method considered in design phase, the reliability of each individual unit should be increased, it is the basic data for the general reliability of the entire system. The reliability including such indexes as: average time when there is no trouble, rate of fault, average time it takes to do the repair work, the repair rate, application rate, working condition of each unit, state of shutdown, and operating state etc. Unit working condition should be examinined before starting the work of statistics. In the meantime it is necessary to collect the relevant operation and test data followed by working out a service-life flow chart for each unit. Finally, comes the parameter estimation so as to have the statistical value of unit reliability worked out. A calculation example is also given in the paper.
