Abstract
Faults have such effects on pipelines as deformation, buckle and even pipeline abnormal operation. While the calculation of fault crossing pipeline takes an important role in pipeline aseismic analysis, the determination of distribution of displacement and int ernal force along the pipeline in a fault acts as the foundation to further strength and stiffness calculations. On the basis of the models of the soil stress during displacement around the pipeline, the stress analysis on pipeline shows that the stress of soil on pipeline consists of lateral soil pressure and axial soil friction, which result in the lateral and axial displacement of pipeline. Taking the combinations of quintic B spline fundamental functions and cubic B spline fundamental functions as the test functions for lateral and axial displacements respectively, the residue elimination equation for vectors of the undetermined coefficient is given from the relationship between load and displacemend and point matching method. With boundary conditions being introduced, the linear equation, the matrix of coefficient of which is sparse matrix, can be obtained. Using point matching method, the displacement functions can be obtained by eliminating the residues and then the corresponding internal forces can be derived.
