Technical Requirements for Fuelling Station Construction

  • Discussed in this paper are the requirements for the design and construction of the storage and transtportaion systems in a fuelling station, which consist of flow in, flow out and aerating systems. In the flow out system, the flow lines between tank and filling hose are installed in straight line and are equipped with a non - return foot valve at the end to the tank. In the flow in system, closed unloading is usually used, and feed lines shall be 2000mm from tank bottom to prevent static electricity? Pipe fittings connected with the tank are concentrated within the range of manhole cover, with their layout shown in Fig. 2. Tanks and pipes shall be corrosion and leakage tested prior to service? Normal filling operation is dependent upon the correct installation of its foot valve which shall be pressure tested for sound sealing of the screwed connection. Earthing devices in the fuelling station include earthing of lightning arrestor, electrostatic earthing and earthing of electric equipment. The earthing devices for process system consist of earth plate and earth lead. A separate earthing device is installed at the unloading point of the station. Earthing protection against electric leakage must be provided for the enclosure of fueller.
