Develop China's Pipeline Industry in an All-Round Way

The development of China's pipeline industry is both promising and chalenging. The oilfields in eastern China have entered into low yield stage. In order to maintain the oil production in east part, further innovations for the existing pipelines are needed, including improvement of internal inspection technology, coating maintenance and replacement, operation optimization study, and transportation of the imported crude oil using existing pipeline networks. The best sollution to meet the increasing demand for oil products is to construct products pipelines, taking into consideration of the relavent key techniques: minimization of contaminated oil, tracking interface, treatment of mixed oils, quick change-over device, etc. Gas pipeline construction will be developed along side with the exploitation of natural gas and the populization of city gas. Coal slurry pipelines will also be listed in the agenda due to the rich coal resources in China. In order to enhance the adaptability to the market economy, management and technical administration shall be upgraded by importing advanced technology, establishing complete quality assurance system, speeding up the transformation from scientific achievement to productivity, and fully extending the roles of scientific and technical personnel.
