Development and Test of Floating Facility for Loading and Unloading Oil Tanks

  • Floating facility for oil loading and unloading is a new kind of operating component of an oil tank. It has overcome the shortcoming of the conventional riser, which is heavy in weight and costs large amount of labour. This facility consists of a bend sub of 90°, a swivel, a riser, a fixed float and a suspended float, etc.Its operation principle is that it moves up and down on the plumb area within the range of 0°-75° around the swivei with the help of the boyancy provided by the float and stop at a certain fixed position. The main design point is to consider the restrained requirements of the external contuor; to select different kind of material so as to prevent static electricity caused by the friction between metal components.Relavent corrosion protection measure should be taken to prolong the quipment service life; the number of the floats is up to the riser's own quality.Generally, three are recommended: The position of the float on the riser should be fixed through calculation and site test and adjusted when necessary. When applicaltion is performed, attentiion should be paid to the height from the riser and the liquid level and the riser float should be fixed.
