Seashore Vertical Oil Tank Design

  • The following should be put into consideration in the design of vertical oil tanks located on the seashore in typhonic areas: Typhonic velocity should be refered as the instaneous velocity for calculating instaneous anemobarovalue. If the calculation is done based on 10 min, once every 30 years as the basic wind pressure, the number should be multiplied by the convertion factor, besides, it should be added up to 20%—40%; Wheather anchor bolts are necessary to be allocated at the tank bottom depends on the tilting moment caused by typhonic pressure and the stability should be checked.Anchor bolts are necessary only when the tilting moment gets longer than the load resistance moment by 2/3; The spiral stairway of the oil tank should be located on the sheltered side, its structure shauld be installed with a tripod and internal, external board structures; Salty water corrosion should be put into consideration for tank corrosion protection. Tanks located on the seashore is not allowed to be kept in an empty state during typhonic season. The minimum lecel of oil remaining inside can be defined through calculation.
