A Simple and Direct Method of Measuring the Crude Oil Viscosity - temperature Curve and Its Application

Measurement of the viscosity—temperature curve of crude oil is of great importance both experimentally and on site. Based on the comparison with the conventinal methods, a simple and direct measuring method is recommendedwith the result measured under pipe wall shearing rate.For the pseudoplastic fluid with a rheological behaviour index of over 0.79, short—cut calculation of the pressure drop of pipeline laminar flow regime can be carried out using the pressure drop formula for Newtonian laminar flow.
