Analysis of Internal Stress Caused by External Pressure Applied to the Underground Glass Fibre Reinforced Plastic Pipes

  • It is considered to be of value for plastics to replace steel in certain long distance pipelines. According to the importance of stress calculation of burried glass fibre reinforced pipes acted on by external load of soil, and the method of structural mechanics, and guided by the theory of soil engineering, analyzed in this article is the soilpressure destributionmode. The formula of calculating internal stress destribution caused by external load of soil is given as well.The utility and reliability of the formula are proved through practical example calculation.
