The Yeildstrength Testing Pressure Problem for Oil Pipeline Hydrostatic Pressure Test

  • Through the analysis on some testing informations from foreign countries, the paper explains the yeildstrength testing pressure problem according to " the Route Engineering Design Code" (SYJ 14-85) for crude oil pipeline in China. It is considered that the yeildstrength testing pressure defined in the code is on the low side and is minimum requirement for pipeline pressure test. Thus, it suggest that the yeildstrength testing pressure should be incresed untill pipe is begun to be practically yeilded in order to enhancing the construction level and quality of oil pipeline in China.
