  • Generally, pipelinc lifetime is within the period of 30 to 50 years. Because of ageing of pipeline, the events of leakage and explosion will be taken into place within this period. Such events are statistical in nature and the number of events and the time of first event may be expressed by mathematical mode. With the establishment of historical data base within the pipeline operation of 5 to 10 years, the utilization of microcomputer for prediction of events and the application of maintaining measures for prevention in time, these are economical and effective means for the safety of pipeline operation and the prevention of unexpected events.
