Field Practical Test of Viscous Oil Transportation in Fluid Ring State

The article introduces the field test of fluid ring transportation carried on viscous oil gathering pipeline and the operation procedure of restart in normal operation and after long time shutdown based on the test. It has verified the optimum condition and the practical range for fluid ring transportation. The result shows that there is a long-turm stable fluid ring in state of 8-20 % water mixing, so that resistance reducing effect and economical efficiency have been obviously enhanced. Thus, it has been approved that the fluid ring transporting technology can transport viscous oil safely and effectively on the short distance pipeline.
