An Analysis of the Dynamic Response and Fatigue Strength of the Vertical Pipes under the Stationary Off-Shore Platform

  • The vertical pipes are the important links which connect sea-bedded pipelines to the oil gathering equipment of a stationary oil platform. They may subject to corrosion fatigue damage owing to the effect of random load imposed upon by sea waves, etc. By using finite element method, the article makes a close study of the random displacement and stress response of the vertical pipes under the action of such load as brought about by sea waves, flows and winds, meanwhile their fatigue strength is analysed based on rapture mechanics.
