The article fills us in the general situation of mechanical construction of pipelines both at home and abroad, and makes a comprehensive comparjson in such aspects as construction equipment, personel, progress, weld quality and the malpractices prevailing long over pipeline construction such as empty talk, dilatory decision, rash design, rush construction and deliberate commissioning on the first day of a month.
