The Static Charge Generated in Refined Products Storage and Transportation System and Its Elimination

Through analysis of variations of static charge accident accured in rail tanker transporting and storage of refining products, the cause of discharge and its rules of analysis, and test of the highest potentail value on surface in oil storage resulted from the effect of variant factors concerned, the author thinks it possible to control and eliminate the static charge by taking such measures as displacement hy inertial gas, floating-roof tanks, closed loading and addition of anti-static charge additives.
