Lectures of the Finite Element Method(Ⅰ)

The history and extensive application of various types of engineering problems of the finite element method are introduced in this paper, General applicability and general description of the finite element method are discussed. The procedutes of solution are illustrated with the help of three examples that are stress analysis of a stapped bar of the solid mechanics, temperature distribution of bar of heat tronsfer and inviscid fluid flow in a tube of flald mechanics.
