Automation of Refinery Products Storage and Tranasportation—Present Status and Further Improvement

The paper deals with the characteristics of refinery products handling and the present status of automation in the way of loading and unloading operation, storage and shipping.Taking into consideration the present state, operation, management and instrumentation with regard to refinery automation, the author puts forward some ideas as to further improvement in the automation system, with examples of refinery tank farm automation furnished.
