cRIO and its application as negative pressure wave/acoustic pipeline leak detection system

  • cRIO is a low-cost reconfigurable control and acquisition system. It is reliable and has a wide operating temperature. So, it can be used as sub-station monitor for negative pressure wave/acoustic pipeline leak detection system. cRIO is a remote data collection system that can real time collect, save and transmit data. In this paper, all kinds of function of the cRIO are introduced. Its hardware includes embedded real time controller (NI cRIO-9014), reconfigurable embedded chassis (NI cRIO-9104 8) and NI 9205 data collection module. Its software includes data collection program running on NI cRIO-9104 and control program running on NI cRIO-9014. cRIO can collect data remotely and run in the field, for example, manual valve chamber, and also meet the needs in real time, precision and stability. Furthermore, it can reduce the design power of the power supply system and modification cost of valve chamber. At present, the device has been successfully installed at the NO.11 Valve Chamber in LanZhengChang Refined Oil Products Pipeline.
