Aseismatic design of pipeline crossing the seismic intensity IX area and Xiaojiang Fault

  • The total conditions of a pipeline crossing in the seismic intensity IX area and the Xiaojiang Fault in Xundian, Yunnan Province, is introduced. Relative aseimatic design scenario for the pipeline crossing the area is given, including the conclusions verified to the systems consisted of aseismic structure, pipeline route, stations, power and communication, etc., and the scenario to be launched will rely on the seismologic monitoring and warning system introduced. A contrast between the pipeline and Alaska pipeline is made from the seismic region background, functional objectives and fortifying codes, design method, material selection, pipe laying mode, communication mode, seismic monitoring and early-warning. It is affirmed that the anti-seismic design in these areas is valid and efficient. Other than the Alaska pipeline, the pipe laying method of the pipeline adopted is a buried laying method to cross the Xiaojiang Fault, which is of great significance for the aseismic design of pipeline to pass through the seismic intensity IX area and fault zones.
