Numerical simulation on soil surface temperature field of oil pipeline under multiple-point leak

  • Taking the underground oil pipeline with multiple-point leak as a research object, the oil-water two-phase flow coupled heat transfer model in the soil of porous medium is established and computational domain of pipeline leak is zoomed based on the similarity theory. The features of soil surface temperature field for underground oil pipeline with multiple-point leak and their inter-influence among different leak points are simulated by Fluent 6.3, CFD software. Results show that convection phenomena A and B satisfying certain conditions are similar in heat transfer and flow. When axial distance between the leak points is 3 m, the inter-influence between leak medium is great and leak domain of soil surface temperature field appears an irregular elliptic shape. Soil surface temperature field with multiple-point leak distributes obviously and soil surface temperature difference can reach 10 K within 3 hr under simulation conditions.
