Enlightenment of natural gas supply guarantee strategy of European Union for China's natural gas supply security

At present, China's natural gas supply has the problems of unbalanced supply structure, aggravated contradiction between supply and demand, insufficient gas storage facilities, and imperfect transportation and distribution network, which seriously threatens the security of China's natural gas supply. As the European Union (EU) countries have many similar characteristics to China in terms of the natural gas industry system, their supply guarantee strategies can provide significant reference and enlightenment for China to ensure natural gas supply security. For this reason, analysis was conducted for the strategies adopted by EU countries to cope with the natural gas supply crisis, such as increasing the diversification of natural gas supply sources, accelerating the construction of natural gas pipeline network infrastructure, increasing the input of alternative energy, and improving the construction of natural gas supply security regulations. On this basis, suggestions were put forward to ensure the natural gas supply security of China from the aspects of improving the level of diversified natural gas supply, strengthening the construction of natural gas storage facilities, establishing a unified natural gas dispatching and control platform, and accelerating the construction of natural gas-related laws and regulations, with a view to improving China's capacity to guarantee the natural gas supply.
