Scheme and optimization of mixed transportation of Jinhua Crude Oil Pipeline at normal temperature

  • Jinhua Crude Oil Pipeline always transports Jidong crude oil and Russian crude oil in an alternating cold-hot mode. With the deterioration of Jidong crude oil in physical properties year by year, the allowable shutdown time of the pipeline is greatly reduced, and the safety risk of pipeline solidification is greatly increased. Therefore, tests were performed for the mixing of Jidong crude oil and Russian crude oil in the storage tank and in-line mixing outside the storage tank. The results show that the mixed transportation of Jidong crude oil and Russian crude oil at normal temperature can be realized at a specific mixing ratio and temperature. In general, the mixed transportation at normal temperature can not only greatly reduce the risk of pipeline solidification caused by the alternating cold-hot transportation mode, greatly enhancing the intrinsic safety of the pipeline, but also achieve huge economic benefits. It is calculated that the energy consumption cost can be saved by about 1 400×104 yuan per year under the condition of designed pipeline throughput of 700×104 t/a. The research results could provide technical reference for the mixed transportation of high-temperature high-pour point and low-temperature low-pour point crude oils in China and abroad.
