Application and prospect of digital radiographic detection technology in long-distance pipeline

  • Radiographic detection technology is a nondestructive detection technology widely used in industrial field and ithas unique advantages in qualitative defect detection and other aspects. According to the characteristics of defect imagingtechnology, the development status of the major industrial radiographic detection technologies was compared, the technicalcharacteristics and advantages of Digital Radiography (DR) detection were clarified, and the requirements of the relevantChinese standards for radiographic detection of long-distance pipeline were summarized from the aspect of weld inspectionand qualification certification. In these standards, slight difference existed in the requirements of detection proportion, butthe requirements of DR and RT-F were consistent in defect assessment. Herein, the application of DR technology in longdistance pipeline at home and abroad were introduced, the technical problems of DR detection technology for applicationin China were analyzed in the aspects of detection efficiency and economic benefits, selection of flat panel detector anddefect assessment, the future development trend of DR detection technology was prospected, and in combination withthe development trend of digital pipelines such as the China-Russia Eastern Gas Pipeline, the analysis indicates thatDR detection technology will play an increasingly important role in remote efficient assessment and detection big datamanagement and analysis, with broad application prospects.
