Construction method for Aershan-Saihantala Oil Pipeline Reconstruction Project under non-stop transmission condition

  • To replace the crude oil pipeline outside the station without shutdown, it was proposed to line up the original and additional pipelines, respectively, with the station equipment by building the temporary process upon the original equipment of the station. This allows parallel operation of the original and additional pipelines to attain the goal of replacing original pipelines with the new ones under non-stop transmission condition. Based on the successful case of the 261 km-long Aershan-Saihantala Oil Pipeline, the necessity, design principles and implementation methods of the temporary process setting were studied. The commissioning process of the new pipeline was also studied from the following aspects: preheating process of the new pipeline, oil in-service process of the new pipeline, replacement of oil in the original pipeline with water, the non-stop transmission implementation method during commissioning, etc. The connection mode between new pipelines and station processes and the dismantling mode of the original pipeline were described in detail. The concrete implementation method of replacing the whole crude oil pipeline under non-stop transmission condition was obtained, and the original pipeline was properly disposed of while assuring the safe operation of the new pipeline.
