Abstract
Several transportation pipelines of oil production wells in a certain oilfield suffer from corrosion leakage frequently, whose duration and frequency greatly exceed the normal corrosion rate. In this paper, pipeline material, soil corrosiveness and stray current interference were analyzed. It is determined that the DC stray current caused by the current leakage of switch box of oil production well is the main reason for the rapid corrosion of the pipeline. After rectification, the phenomenon of external corrosion of the pipeline caused by stray current interference is eliminated. And it is further ascertained that when the neutral line of power line is charged, pipeline-to-soil potential test shall be carried out to evaluate the existence of stray current interference, so as to eliminate the hidden troubles in time.
